Your tasks?


  • As a working student (d/m/f/x) in the Open Source Program Office (OSPO), you support the team with strategic and operational topics related to open source.
  • You will be involved in organizing Open Source Community events, workshops and campaigns and support their preparation and follow-up.
  • In addition, you research current open source projects, trends, technologies and best practices and prepare relevant information.
  • You provide support in the creation of the open source report as well as in presentations, reports and analyzes for management and specialist units.
  • You contribute to communication measures for the Mercedes-Benz Developer Community and contribute to the further development of the Open Source Community.
  • In addition, you will support the analysis of open source usage and community key figures and prepare the results in a clearly arranged manner.

  • You study computer science, business informatics, software engineering or a similar course of study.
  • You are passionate about open source software and open source communities and are interested in community management, developer experience and modern forms of collaboration.
  • You will bring initial experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab or comparable platforms as well as basic knowledge of modern software development and DevOps practices.
  • Ideally, you have already contributed your own to open source projects or would like to get actively involved in this area in the future.
  • You work in a structured and independent manner and impress with your strong communication skills in German and English.
  • A confident approach to Microsoft 365, especially teams, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint, rounds out your profile.

To ensure that there is still enough free time in addition to studying and working, you will receive a pro rata 30 vacation days with us as well as the opportunity to plan your working hours flexibly.
