As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Stretch Hardware team, you will be part of a dynamic group that is building our newest commercial robot designed to remedy tough challenges within the warehouse space. In this role you will be responsible for the design, construction, and troubleshooting of compact, reliable, and safe electrical systems. How you will make an impact:

  • Lead and perform electrical PCBA design, integration, testing, and PCB layout efforts

  • Apply your expertise to inform robot builds, and debug complex electrical systems

  • Own a range of systems from small sub-assemblies to fully integrated robots including specification to design, prototype, reliability validation and manufacturing

  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, controls, and test engineers in small or large cross-disciplinary teams to design and bring robots to market

What we are looking for:

  • BSEE with 5+ years of professional experience

  • Demonstrated experience using schematic capture and PCB layout software (Altium or similar)

  • Experience with both digital and analog product designs

  • Experience with high-speed digital design, ex. PCIe, Ethernet, USB, MIPI

  • Proficiency in electronics debug and failure analysis

  • Working understanding of EMC/EMI testing and standards

  • Working understanding of command-line Linux or similar operating system

  • Ability to use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies

  • Ability to solder SMT PCB components

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CPU, GPU, SSD, memory

  • Experience architecting products that require attention to functional safety

  • Intimate knowledge of IEC 61508, ISO 26262, or comparable standards

  • Experience designing power electronics from 100W to 10kW

  • Experience using or designing motors and/or motor drives

  • Experience in Verilog or VHDL
