Robotics Technician - Stretch - Global Services and Support

Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics.

We are looking for people who can work as key members of our multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and repair complex robotic systems for our Stretch Robot components. Tasks could range from working on small electromechanical or hydraulic assemblies and test stands to fully integrated robots. A successful candidate must have a strong electrical background, demonstrate an ability to work in large teams and communicate effectively with engineers.

Day to Day Activities:

  • Debugging, testing, maintenance, and repairs of the world’s most advanced dynamic robots Prototype, build, and troubleshoot experimental hardware alongside engineering teams and researchers

  • Create and maintain detailed records of issue resolution, logging events during the repair workflow, and accounting of parts consumed

  • Interface with external partners to resolve issues and ensure customer success

  • Preserve effective contact with other departments (manufacturing, engineering, sales, and software support) to ensure a high level of communication and cooperation.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to perform complex technical tasks requiring advanced skills and developed expertise in electronic testing to the component level of robotics equipment in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and procedures

  • Experience with the application of electronic theory to test, troubleshoot, determine solutions applicable to electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBA’s (printed circuit board assembly)

  • Configure, and/or verify, regular test equipment to fit special tests including using software to program PCBA’s

  • Ability to surface mount solder using a microscope. Solder certifications are a plus Experience with PCB rework and cable assembly

  • Ability to navigate and work in Linux environment

  • Professional experience in maintenance, installation, service work in a related industry Computer skills (e-mail, spreadsheets) required, with command line or Linux being a plus Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted

Travel:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time including international

  • Able to obtain a Passport

The pay range for this position is between $25.98 to $32.86 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.
