Job Description for Test Technician
Day to day activities include:
Working with Test engineering team, prototype, build and troubleshoot test systems and cable assemblies for design, production and external suppliers
Assist in Subassembly testing of PCBAs and electromechanical components
Document test systems assembly, bring-up and troubleshooting guide
Develop and carry out preventative maintenance activities for electromechanical test fixtures
Proactively manage inventory of test equipment to minimize downtime for test-stand assembly build
Provide input and improvement ideas for fixture designs and process
Skills desired:
Able to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics and troubleshoot failures down to a component level
Formal training or education as an Electronics Technician
Prior experience working on electrical systems and proficiency of basic test equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes and signal generators
Ability to solder SMT PCB components using a microscope or reflow equipment is a big plus
Basic computer skills with experience in command-line operating systems such as Linux
Support quality team with failure data entry into tracking tools and perform simple data trend analysis using Excel
Working knowledge of CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA
Practical hands-on experience with mechanical systems and fabrication
Experience with test automation is a plus
Experience working with robots and/or robotic systems preferred
Self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative team-based environment with minimal supervision
Travel between local sites required
The base pay range for this position is between $33.18 to $42.94 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
