Halcyon Days Consulting, LLC (HDC) is a veteran owned small business that specializes in the design and engineering of Tactical Mission Networks (TMN). This is a unique opportunity to join a small and high-performing team committed to delivering cloud platforms for exciting missions.
HDC is seeking a
Cloud Cybersecurity SME who will be responsible for conducting threat and risk analysis and analyzing the operational impact of new and existing systems and technologies to eliminate risk, performance, and capacity issues. The Cloud Cybersecurity SME performs research, testing, evaluation, deployment of security technology and procedures and runs diagnostics on changes to data to verify undetected breaches.
RESPONSIBILITIES& DUTIES:
- Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
- Analyze system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform threat and risk assessments and evaluate the operational impact of existing and new technologies.
- Research, test, and deploy security technologies and procedures; verify data integrity post-change.
- Develop firewalls and custom security solutions for software systems, data centers, and network infrastructure.
- Maintain awareness of intrusion techniques and design effective protection plans.
- Create security training materials and conduct sessions for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Supervise teams, manage client interactions, and engage senior leadership in decision-making and planning.
- Coordinate with service providers and clients, offering assessments, technical support, and guidance on cybersecurity policies.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 12 years of experience in Cybersecurity or related field.
- In-depth understanding of vulnerabilities, cybersecurity frameworks, and controls.
- Ability to manage antivirus systems, incident response protocols, and intrusion detection.
- Skilled at developing and maintaining IT security documentation.
- Proven experience leading teams, managing stakeholders, and executing security initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements.
- Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g., NetFlow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
- Familiarity with the DOD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program.
- Proficiency with any of the following: Anti-virus, HIPS, ID/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, and RSA Security.
SALARY RANGE:
$190,000 - $210,000
This salary range is an hourly exempt (exempt from overtime) position. Benefits are provided in addition to the salary range.
