Boston Dynamics is seeking a Senior Demand and Supply Chain Planner to join our high-impact Demand Planning team. You will model demand and supply plans for our advanced robotics portfolio, ensuring product availability and optimal inventory levels. Leveraging your analytical expertise, you will translate customer signals, product lifecycles, and engineering change orders into actionable plans. You will partner with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing to align forecasts, proactively manage risks, and drive supply chain efficiency, measured by metrics including forecast accuracy, inventory health, on-time delivery and backlog aging. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in demand planning, big data analytics, and inventory management within complex manufacturing environments.
This is a hybrid role in Waltham, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Proactively manage the Sales Demand Planning lifecycle, identifying backlog risks and past-due orders early to protect customer service levels and revenue targets.
Lead high-level cross-functional forecasting reviews and represent product families in planning meetings to synthesize a unified, consensus-based demand plan in partnership with Sales, Service, Production, Purchasing and Fulfillment.
Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous data and establish baseline best practices where standard operating procedures are still evolving.
Own the demand consolidation process and demand loading into ERP
Define, calculate, and manage safety stock levels for various products using best practice standards, balancing inventory investment against product availability.
Manage end-to-end ERP data integrity for demand plans, troubleshooting MRP issues, and maintaining comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all planning activities.
Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations to manage the product lifecycle, including buffer strategies, for complex hardware components, and end-of-life (EOL) products.
Proactively audits sales forecasts, historical trends, and inventory signals to challenge weak assumptions rather than accepting data at face value
Execute scenario planning for different demand and supply situations and support long-range forecast creation and E&O reduction efforts.
Design and maintain Tableau dashboards to measure, optimize, and communicate Demand Planning improvements (e.g., cost reduction, inventory efficiencies, forecast changes) and serve as the point of contact with the analytics team for higher complexity dashboards.

Desired Education & Qualifications
Education: Bachelorβs degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field required. 8+ years of hands-on demand/supply planning and data analytics experience, or 5+ years experience with a relevant Masters degree.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced data modeling capabilities (e.g., complex Excel functions, SQL/Python a plus, statistical baseline forecasting methods; proven experience with ERP systems (Rootstock preferred) and data visualization tools (Tableau).
Analytical rigor / Data/ problem solving skills. Self-directed builder who enjoys refining immature processes into standardized best practices.
Soft Skills: Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and distill complex data into actionable leadership briefings.
This is a high-impact role that directly influences inventory performance, customer service levels, supply chain efficiency, and overall business success.
The pay range for this position is between $116,479.18 ro145,598.98 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
