DevOps Engineer

ProspectBlue is seeking a skilled and security-focused DevOps Engineer to support and enhance technology platforms within a banking and financial services environment. This role partners closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to build, deploy, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure systems that support mission-critical financial applications, including payment and API-driven platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting AWS-based applications and services
• Build, deploy, and manage infrastructure in AWS, including RDS PostgreSQL and RDS Redis environments
• Support and optimize web and application traffic using NGINX
• Collaborate with engineering teams on API development, deployment, and performance optimization
• Support and maintain payment-related platforms and integrations, including ACH processing (ACH Pro)
• Deploy and support communication services and integrations such as Twilio
• Partner with frontend teams to support applications built with Next.js
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability across production and non-production environments
• Embed security controls throughout the SDLC (DevSecOps)
• Ensure compliance with banking and financial regulatory requirements (SOC, PCI, SOX, FFIEC)
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide production support as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Hands-on experience building and supporting solutions in AWS
• Experience with AWS RDS, including PostgreSQL and Redis
• Experience configuring and managing NGINX
• Strong understanding of API development and integration
• Experience supporting payment systems and ACH processing platforms
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts
• Experience working in regulated or high-availability environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Twilio or similar communication platforms
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Next.js
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
