Summary 


This position operates in a deadline-driven environment with responsibility for supporting tax preparation and filing processes, financial reporting, bookkeeping functions, and brokerage operations. The role serves as a critical contributor to departmental effectiveness by ensuring the timely execution of key financial, accounting, tax, and brokerage-related activities, particularly during peak periods such as year-end and tax season.


The successful candidate will collaborate with both business and individual clients, applying analytical skills and professional judgment to interpret financial information, support operational processes, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives. This position requires the ability to quickly learn and apply complex financial, accounting, tax, and brokerage concepts while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to evaluating data, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and supporting evolving business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Accounting Services

  • Provide bookkeeping and accounting support for business clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. 
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and maintain accurate financial records. 
  • Process payroll-related transactions, including payroll tax deposits and payroll tax return filings. 
  • Prepare and file sales tax deposits and sales tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations.


Tax Services

  • If CPA designation is not complete, successful attainment of CPA designation within nine (9) months of hire is required. 
  • Collect, analyze, and enter client financial and tax information to support tax compliance and reporting requirements. 
  • Assist in the preparation, assembly, and quality review of tax returns and related client deliverables. 
  • Coordinate client communications and meetings related to tax planning and tax return reviews. 


Brokerage Services

  • Develop proficiency in INB's brokerage platform, reporting systems, and operational processes. 
  • Support account administration activities, including new account onboarding, transaction processing, distributions, receipts, and account maintenance. 
  • Generate reports and analyze account data to support client service and operational efficiency. 
  • This position provides a developmental pathway to a Junior Broker role, contingent upon successful completion of CPA requirements, demonstrated proficiency in core service responsibilities, and management approval based on performance and readiness. Once these pre-requisites have been reached, the candidate will be expected to study for and sit for their SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 Exams.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members while demonstrating the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. 
  • Exercise sound judgment, adaptability, and strong organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders through written and verbal channels. 
  • Prepare client correspondence, reports, invoices, presentations, and other business documents as required. 
  • Coordinate information requests and support cross-functional initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and client service. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree. Tax, Bookkeeping/Accounting and QuickBooks experience required. Requires successful completion of the CPA Exam and, upon management approval, to move on to a Junior Broker role, successful completion of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.


Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and Word skills. The role also requires the ability to use financial software, including tax preparation software other than TurboTax. Experience with data analytics and general ledger software, particularly QuickBooks, is preferred.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical and abstract problems with limited information, interpret written, verbal, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions, and apply strong analytical skills with close attention to detail.


Mathematical Skills

Working Knowledge and ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.


Communication Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong written and oral communications skills, to present information and to respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Physical Demands

During certain deadline-driven times, overtime will be expected and required.

$65,000-$95,000 annually
