Sr. Backend Engineer

At Seemplicity, we’re creating the leading all-in-one productivity platform for security teams — simplifying, optimizing, and scaling the way they reduce risk through smart, automated workflows.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Application Team, a hybrid team of frontend, fullstack and backend lead. You’ll have a pivotal role in shaping our API services architecture, influencing technology choices, and building features that make a tangible difference for security teams worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Impact from day one: Own backend development in a team currently without a backend engineer.
• Influence the stack: Help define best practices, architecture, and backend strategy.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features — from research and design to coding, testing, and deployment.
• Build and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Collaborate with frontend and fullstack engineers working in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Review and improve code quality through peer reviews.
• Continuously optimize for performance, security, and reliability.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Experience in writing data API services.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Expertise in Python (Node.js experience a plus).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with microservices architectures.

Nice to Have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices.

Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience (military tech unit experience welcome).
