The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior DevOps Developer to join the team in Seattle, WA; North Charleston, SC; Mesa, AZ; Plano, TX; or Ridley Park, PA

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing the infrastructure and tools that enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of software applications.

As a DevOps Developer you are required to design, implement, and manage infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support software development and deployment. This role involves collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to automate processes, enhance system reliability, and optimize performance in cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and fostering a DevOps culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, design, implement, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure using cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), SAAS products (Databricks, Snowflake) and on-premises solutions

  • Design and develop reusable IaC modules for deploying Kubernetes, Databricks, Snowflake and other related cloud services on AWS and Azure

  • Build and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable rapid and reliable software releases

  • Automate repetitive tasks, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar

  • Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system reliability and performance (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)

  • Integrate DevOps pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins

  • Work closely with developers to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle and support containerized applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Ensure infrastructure and pipelines adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., ITAR, EAR, SOC 2, GDPR)

  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues in production and non-production environments

  • Automate, monitor and optimize cloud resource usage to balance performance and cost efficiency

  • Integrate DevSecOps practices including secret management, vulnerability scanning and compliance check

  • Maintain clear documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurations to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing

  • Guide and mentor development team members and sharing knowledge to foster a DevOps culture

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 8+ years of experience in Platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar role

  • 5+ years of experience in working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and other SaaS platforms including Databricks and Snowflake

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)

  • 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)

  • 5+ years of experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)

  • 5+ years of experience in implementing DevSecOps practices such as secret management, RBAC, ABAC, tag-based or policy-based security measures

  • 5+ years of experience in implementing data access governance using Lake formation, Unity catalog or similar stack

  • 3+ years of experience with building monitoring dashboards for resource usage using different logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current industry certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

  • Experience with security, compliance and networking in cloud native and hybrid environments.

  • Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing

  • Experience with AI & generative AI use cases and implementations

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and practices.

  • Experience with data engineering workflows and ETL orchestration (Airflow, Control-M, Autosys)

  • Experience with data platforms and warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks)
