WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're seeking a seasoned Senior Java Engineer with 8+ years of experience building scalable, enterprise-grade platforms using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL. You'll be a technical leader who can architect robust solutions, mentor team members, and drive best practices while guiding features through their full lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines deep backend expertise with a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for the Hololight Hub platform.
YOUR MISSION
- Design and implement innovative, high-performing and scalable solutions for Hololight Hub
- Guide features through the full lifecycle - from discovery and implementation to testing, iteration, and successful deployment.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and frontend/backend developers to design and implement new platform features
- Actively participate in architecture discussions and contribute to defining technical standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Apply industry best practices to ensure high-quality, performant and maintainable code
- Continuously improve engineering processes, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and overall operational readiness to enhance developer productivity.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to elevate the team's technical capabilities
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 8+ years developing Java-based, web-hosted platforms (Java 17 or higher)
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot and SQL
- Strong understanding of system design principles, software architecture, design patterns, and technology trade-offs for building scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
- Experience with Frontend technologies: TypeScript, React, CSS
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Experience working with VMware and / or AWS SDKs using Java
- Experience with Enterprise IT system such as Active Directory and Network Attached Storage (NAS)
- Experience working with OAuth 2.0 and modern authentication/authorization systems
- Interest or experience in virtual and augmented reality technologies
- Familiarity with GPU-based applications and their deployment in virtualized environments
