Medical Guardian is on a mission to transform from a device-centric emergency response company into a connected healthcare platform that empowers older adults and their caregivers with independence, safety, and proactive wellness. We are driving a multi-year Digital Transformation Initiative to unify our digital ecosystem, including CMS, Member Portals, Senior Living Apps, and Caregiver engagement platforms, into one scalable, modular Unified App Platform.

We are seeking a Principal Frontend App Developer to help architect, lead, and deliver this transformation across web and mobile applications.

Role Summary:

As the Principal Frontend App Developer, you will serve as the technical leader for the design and implementation of modern, scalable, and user-friendly applications that power our next-generation member and caregiver experiences. You will set coding standards, establish architectural patterns, and mentor a team of frontend developers while working closely with backend, AI/ML, and product teams.

This role is critical to delivering our Nexus vision: a modular, CMS driven, multilingual platform that consolidates multiple apps into a seamless member, caregiver, and partner experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design
    • Lead frontend architecture for the Unified App Platform (web + mobile using React/React Native or Flutter).
    • Design modular, reusable UI components aligned with our Meta-driven Design System.
    • Implement headless CMS (Contentful/Strapi/Custom) integrations for dynamic content delivery.
    • Ensure scalability, accessibility, performance, and security across all frontend layers.
  • Leadership & Mentorship
    • Serve as technical authority and leader for frontend developers across pods.
    • Drive adoption of best practices in code quality, performance optimization, and automated testing.
    • Champion agile and DevSecOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, story pointing).
  • Delivery & Execution
    • Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
    • Integrate with backend microservices, orchestration engine (IOE), and third-party APIs (Salesforce, Twilio, Hubspot, Waypoint).
    • Lead the delivery of multi-brand, multi-tenant app features that support MG, MobileHelp, and MedScope ecosystems.
    • Support migration of legacy portals/apps into the unified platform.
  • Innovation
    • Explore emerging frontend technologies (Next.js, Progressive Web Apps, Edge rendering).
    • Drive personalized engagement features leveraging AI/ML and the Behavioral Digital Twin model.
    • Participate in patent filings and thought leadership around digital healthcare experiences.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise
    • 8+ years of professional frontend development experience; 3+ years in a lead/principal role.
    • Mastery of React.js/React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
    • Experience with Flutter or hybrid frameworks for cross-platform delivery.
    • Strong understanding of CMS integration, micro frontends, and modular app design.
    • Expertise in responsive design, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), and performance optimization.
  • Architecture & Systems
    • Experience designing for multi-brand, multi-tenant platforms.
    • Familiarity with Azure cloud ecosystem (App Services, Static Web Apps, Blob/CDN).
    • Understanding of microservices, GraphQL/REST APIs, and real-time communication.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and observability tools.
  • Collaboration & Leadership
    • Proven ability to mentor teams and establish coding standards.
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration with designers, backend engineers, and product managers.
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have the ability to work from our Center City, Philadelphia office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
