Nearly all disease will become treatable in our lifetimes, and drug discovery is quickly becoming an engineering discipline. Mandolin is building the “last-mile” delivery infrastructure that gets cutting-edge biologics, cell, and gene therapies to patients faster. Our AI-powered knowledge-worker platform already serves leading infusion clinics, with payers and pharma next in line.
We’re backed by Greylock, SignalFire, Maverick, and founders of famous companies like Yahoo, and led by repeat and exited founders with a team hailing from some of the most technically impressive companies.
Our platform already supports multiple tenants, heavy real-time data flows, and strict clinical uptime requirements—and customer demand is compounding each month. To keep pace, we need a front-end leader who will define the canonical Next.js + TypeScript architecture, codify best-practice patterns (state management, data fetching, error boundaries, a11y, testing), and build the guardrails—lint rules, CI checks, Storybook docs, performance budgets—that let every engineer ship safely at scale. Your decisions today will shape how dozens of engineers add features tomorrow and how reliably thousands of clinicians rely on Mandolin in production.
Own and document the front-end architecture (Next.js + TypeScript): patterns, folder structure, CI checks, and coding standards.
Institute best-practice processes—design-system governance, linting/formatting rules, Storybook workflows, and PR review checklists.
Harden quality & reliability: Sentry instrumentation, performance budgets, bundle profiling, automated regression checks.
Mentor 2–3 junior front-end engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and technical planning sessions.
Design for scale: build and maintain a multi-tenant Next.js app that meets enterprise security, accessibility, and performance requirements.
Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver a cohesive clinician-friendly UI.
5+ years professional web development, deep TypeScript expertise.
Led architecture for at least one enterprise-level, multi-tenant Next.js application in production.
Demonstrated success defining patterns, docs, and processes that other engineers adopt.
Hands-on performance profiling (e.g., React DevTools, Web Vitals) and error monitoring with Sentry or similar.
Comfortable operating in a fast, results oriented, and scaling startup environment.
Prior work in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated domains.
Experience running accessibility audits and automated UI testing.
Familiarity with Storybook and design-system management at scale.
