Background
This position is established for providing support to the development of the OceanOPS Information System and IT Services (www.ocean-ops.org).
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Senior Director, Department of Earth System Data and Prediction the general supervision of the Director, WIGOS Division and the direct supervision of the OceanOPS Manager, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Completion of secondary education is required. Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is an advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in web application development with exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar). Professional experience combined with relevant internship experience maybe accepted.
Other Requirements:

YOUR PROFILE
-Good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and interest in mobile frameworks (Flutter).
-Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
-Basic understanding of APIs, SQL/databases, and versioning tools (Git).
-Interest in GIS mapping services and interactive data visualizations.
-Interest in statistical chart design and user interface ergonomics.
-Interest in learning backend development (Java, Python, APIs).
-Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an international, multicultural team in Brest (Ifremer) and remote partners
Languages:
Good knowledge of English (both oral and written).
Knowledge of French is desirable. (as OceanOPS is in France).
Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.

Salary and Allowances
The position is funded from extra-budgetary funding.
Annual net base salary on initial appointment and after deduction for staff assessment is: EUR 39422

Probation
