iOS Developer (Contract role)

iOS Developer

We are looking for an experienced iOS Developer with strong tvOS experience to support the development and delivery of streaming applications. This is expected to be an approximately 4-month contract role, with potential to extend.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building high-quality video streaming experiences across Apple platforms, with a strong understanding of SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency,  tvOS development patterns, media playback, app performance, and the unique UX and technical considerations of connected TV applications.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain iOS and tvOS applications for streaming video experiences.
• Work with video playback frameworks, player SDKs, and streaming technologies.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Support implementation of playback, navigation, authentication, analytics, and app experience features.
• Troubleshoot performance, playback, and platform-specific issues.
• Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning.
• Help ensure app quality across Apple devices, including Apple TV.

What You'll Bring

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 5+ years, strong professional experience with iOS/tvOS development.
• Solid hands-on experience developing for tvOS.
• Experience building or maintaining streaming media applications.
• Strong experience in Swift/SwiftUI/Swift Concurrency
• Familiarity with AVFoundation, AVPlayer, or related video playback technologies.
• Experience integrating APIs, analytics, authentication, and backend services.
• Understanding of app performance, memory management, and platform-specific debugging.
• Comfortable working in an agile development environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with subscription, live TV, FAST, AVOD, or SVOD streaming applications.
• Familiarity with HLS, DRM, SSAI/CSAI, video analytics, or QoE metrics.
• Experience working with large-scale consumer applications.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, or release management for Apple platforms.

Compensation:

• The expected salary range for this position is $70-90 CAD per hour. (Final placement within the range is at the discretion of the hiring manager, based on relevant experience).
