About the role

In person in 5 days/week in San Francisco, CA

We’re looking to add a frontend engineer to our team. Primary responsibilities will be to enhance and develop features for LangSmith, our platform for LLM application observability, testing, and debugging.

  • Develop new user-facing features using React.

  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.

  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.

  • Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.

  • Collaborate with team members, including back-end developers and UX/UI designers, to improve usability.

  • Write clean, scalable, and documented code.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and apply them into day-to-day work.

In this role, you’re a good fit if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in front-end engineering

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript

  • A deep understanding of React and its core principles

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs

  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JWTs

  • Hands-on experience with front-end development tools like Babel, Vite, Webpack, NPM, and Yarn

  • The ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • A passion for product design and building beautiful, intuitive interfaces

  • Familiarity with git for version control

  • Have strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Can thrive in a fast-moving environment. Views unstructured environments as an opportunity to figure out the most impactful work and define the future success of the company

  • Are ownership-minded. You excel at managing your work efficiently and effectively without the need for close supervision

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity stake for role and stage of company. Commensurate with experience.

  • Annual salary range: $135,000-$185,000 USD
