About the Role 

We are looking for an exceptional, production-oriented Data Scientist to join our Data team. This is a hands-on role at the core of the technology that protects our customers. You will work on real problems at real scale. We process enormous volumes of email traffic, and many of our detection features are complex aggregations built on top of hundreds of millions of records. 

The Data team works across an unusually broad range of data science disciplines: generative AI and LLMs, supervised learning, similarity and clustering methods, and rule-based systems. We are consistently at the edge of what is possible, adopting new techniques and infrastructure as the threat landscape evolves. That pace demands a high level of technical depth and strong critical thinking from everyone on the team.

What You Will Do 

• Explore large-scale data to discover useful features and anomalies for detecting phishing. 
• Train and validate machine learning models that classify phishing and advanced email threats. 
• Fine-tune SLM and agentic integrations that run in real production settings. 
• Deploy models into a complex distributed system operating at high scale. 
• Monitor model performance in production and act on drift, regressions, and edge cases. 
• Stay current with the latest developments in machine learning and data science, and bring them into our work. 

What You Bring 

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist. 
• Strong proficiency in Python. 
• Solid grounding in machine learning fundamentals, with the judgment to choose the right approach for each problem, including when a rule-based or non-ML solution is the better fit. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team. 
• Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine appetite for learning new technologies quickly. 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with end-to-end development processes. 
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud computing. 
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
