Data DevOps Engineer - Data Platforms

Your team

The Pictet Tech division specialises in designing and integrating cutting-edge software applications, including advanced portfolio management systems, sophisticated trading platforms and comprehensive banking and corporate solutions. As a key contributor to the Group’s strategic advancements, the Pictet Tech division plays a vital role in driving transformative innovations that enhance our services and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
As a member of the Data Foundations team within the Data Plateform Unit, you will contribute to enhance the development experience for product teams by delivering well-designed and reliable platforms. You will have the opportunity to shape and optimize our core data services for data at rest, in motion, and in the cloud.

Your role

As a Data DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more critical data platforms, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on technologies among our platforms. Collaborate with developers, infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity experts and risk managers to ensure adherence to platform standards and best practices.
• Innovation and Strategy: Drive platform evolution by researching and implementing state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies, including DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-On Development: Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of platforms using programming and scripting languages.
• Platform Reliability: Ensure the robustness, scalability and performance of platforms by implementing advanced monitoring, alerting and incident response processes.
• Platform Ownership: Lead the design, development, deployment and continuous improvement of data platforms, ensuring they meet business needs and align with the organisation’s strategic vision.

Your profile

• Academic background in computer science.

• First relevant experience in a DevOps role.

• Knowledge of architecture principles, including integration, security, networking, identity and access management.

• Experience at managing the full lifecycle of a platform, from design and development to operations and continuous improvement.
  - Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines and provisioning infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code practices (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
  - Proficiency in software craftsmanship practices, programming and scripting languages (Python, Java, Go, Bash or equivalent).
• As a plus, you have technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  - Messaging systems (IBM MQ, Kafka)
  - Data warehousing (Redshift Snowflake)
  - Clouds providers (AWS & Azure)
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, driven by a passion for technology and the ability to inspire and share enthusiasm with others.
• Proficiency in French is essential, with a good command of English required.
• Swiss resident.
