General Function

This position is focused on securing the College’s information and information systems.  Performs a variety of moderately complex tasks required for the support of user and system requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the College’s data, systems, and networks
  • Troubleshooting security and network problems 
  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches 
  • Ensuring that the College’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls 
  • Participating in the change management process 
  • Conducting testing and scans to identify any vulnerabilities in the College’s information systems 
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization 
  • Evaluating the organization’s security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly 
  • Troubleshooting all network and security issues and incidents 
  • Routinely conduct penetration testing 
  • Design, create, monitor security planning and policy
  • Create written policies and methods to measure compliance to policies
  •  Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a certification in Cybersecurity, OR Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution with 3 years of related experience.

A combination of coursework and experience may substitute for formal education.     

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Security+, Network+, A+, Certifications relevant to the items in Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

  • Must be familiar with industry standard Cyber Security Frameworks (CSF) NIST, ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002, COBIT
