JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our growing Industrial Control Systems/Operational Technology and Cybersecurity team. This role supports the design, implementation, and protection of control systems across critical infrastructure sectors including water, transit, energy, and federal systems. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically curious, and ready to contribute to multidisciplinary project teams. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist in the design and integration of control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) for infrastructure and facility-related projects.
  • Support control systems and cybersecurity designs, assessments, and consulting for ICS/OT environments to include but not limited to: water and wastewater treatment plants, distributed energy resources including microgrids, battery energy storage systems, photovoltaic energy systems, combined heat and power generation, electric vehicle system equipment, rail power and signaling systems and others.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and cybersecurity specialists to develop secure architectures and system documentation.
  • Provide periodic support for client software, firmware, and SCADA network upgrades.
  • Participate in field assessments, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Contribute to technical writing for client deliverables.
  • Travel to client sites within Pennsylvania to support in-state clients.
  • Travel outside of Pennsylvania infrequently as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience 
  • Familiarity with industrial automation protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet, DNP3).
  • Basic understanding of control theory and instrumentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is Required for This Position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Internship or academic project experience in control systems, industrial automation or ICS/OT cybersecurity.
  • Exposure to automation software such as Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk, Aveva Wonderware, Siemens Simatic WinCC or TIA Portal, and others.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-82) or certifications such as GICSP or CISSP (a plus, not required).
  • Able to obtain control systems or network certifications such as Engineer in Training (EIT), or Cisco CCNA.
  • Exposure to control panel designs, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and sequence of operations.
  • Interest in working across sectors (e.g., water, transit, energy) and learning from senior technical mentors in a multidisciplinary environment.

 

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,844 to $150,504. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
