Associate Backend Engineer

Who we are

DB Global Technology, Deutsche Bank's technology center in Central and Eastern Europe, opened its Bucharest office in January 2014 and is continuously expanding. The team comprises enthusiastic professionals working in an international environment, dedicated to learning new technologies and fundamentally changing how Deutsche Bank operates. 

We're looking for a talented and motivated Associate Backend Engineer to join our dbFlow team within the Service Solution & AI and Services tribe. You'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining core application modules for our dbFlow application, a critical component of our service offerings. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow your skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a product that directly impacts our customers.  

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain core application modules under the guidance of senior engineers, using Java, SpringBoot, Camunda, and Oracle
• Participate in code reviews and learn from experienced team members
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and implement solutions
• Write unit tests and contribute to ensuring code quality
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve bugs
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the backend development space 

 
What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in Java development
• Strong understanding of Java Core concepts and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Maven/Gradle build tools
• Experience using JIRA, Git Stash, and Confluence for project management and collaboration
• Basic SQL knowledge and experience with Oracle databases
• Experience working with Spring and REST APIs
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A strong desire to learn and grow in a technical environment

Nice to have:

• Experience with a BPM tool (Camunda preferred) 
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS, Grunt, Bootstrap, Angular, etc.)
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with advanced database concepts
• Experience with OpenShift/Helm for container orchestration
